9mm Luger
had these guys out for a wellness checkup.
both are DWMs one is a 1911, the other is a 1914 commercial, that was pressed into military service, with an individual"s name, he was an oberlieutenant in an artillery unit, word is he survived the first world war, this pistol was brought back to the US on capture papers from the second world war.
the 1911 is unit marked from a medical train, during/before the first world war.
beside mags, and the grips on the 1911 all numbers match, though the 1914 was refinished and the 1911 is missing most of it's original finish.
the 1911 pre dates a few features found on later pistols, it doesnt have the butt stock attachment cutouts nor does it have a bolt hold open feature.Last edited by brian; June 18th, 2020 at 07:56 AM.
