I need to make a few more jigs if I do this again or buy them. What I will definitely buy is the receiver drilling template. I thought I had pictures of the spot welder tips I purchased then filed down to fit the rails. I picked up spme steel from my cousin's welding shop and the steel blocks I purchased on ebay for pretty much shipping. https://photos.app.goo.gl/zqbMfEscwmMHAUPD7

Good luck with the build whatever you choose to do with the barrel. The barrel on this was new from Windham for like $120, which was a good deal from what I saw at the time.
    Thanks for this!

First pic is a mock up. Last pic is the finished (before I start modifying it... )

Specs as it sits in the safe now:

-DPMS LR308 lower build kit (milspec LPK, upgraded for hogue overmolded stock set) from CDNN. Cerakote black graphite
-LJs AR parts dpms upper with parkd milspec BCG/forward assist/dust cover
-ER Shaw 18 416R 1-10 match grade barrel, threaded 5/8x24, m4 feed ramps
-LJs AR parts 15 clamp on free float M-lok hand guard, with 3 under rail
-CMMG SS gas tube, unknown adjustable low profile set screw gas block
-UTG flip up low profile BUIS
-Vortex diamondback 4-12x40 mounted in an eBay 30mm/1 QD PEPR Cantilevered mount
-Vortex Viper 6 MOA red dot
-unknown brand stainless BFC (big fn compensator, 9 hole, 3)

Odinworks adjustable buffer en route, as well as YHM gas block, and A2 flash hider. Also on the list is a better charging handle (raptor or Gisselle Im thinking). Maybe an ambi safety selector and extended mag release, and a B.A.D lever. Eventually a better trigger (echo II or Gisselle)

Ran great at the range and held together, only 40 rounds though, the ammo prices on "range safe" ammo is a bit steep. I can also post some of the jigs I made if anyone's interested. I should see if there's another thread out here showing homemade tools.

I see what you did there lol

PRS/LR/Midwest deer stand rifle this is not a carry all day in the woods rifle, damn thing is heavy.

Edit: add a Beatenzone ATCH7 charging handle to the list of parts. The Seekins is too short and hard to manipulate with scope mounted

Thanks, I think I already posted pictures of my tools that I built. If I have anymore homebrew builds, I'll be sure to throw them up here.

here is my home build, STEN MkV in 9mm
This was built on a semi auto Indianapolis ordnance tube and kit with a 16 inch barrel. nice way to kill some time over a cold winter
totally fun build would recommend to any garage builder. Still needs some work like welds cleanup and a cerakote finish. My next build will be a British WWII Sterling in 9mm!
