Just finished the build on this Romanian AK last week. I started it back in September, most of my time was spent making the tooling for it on the weekends.

Ran great at the range and held together, only 40 rounds though, the ammo prices on "range safe" ammo is a bit steep. I can also post some of the jigs I made if anyone's interested. I should see if there's another thread out here showing homemade tools.

Looks great. Would love to see some pics and info on the tools you used and made. I've got 6.5 Grendel AK barrel in need of a home. Not sure if I want to build a rifle or re-barrel one.

Thanks! I was really pleased when it arrived. Very nicely made, fits great.

I hope it's OK to place a link for a guy that offers a great product at a fair price. http://blackgunswood.com

Here you go, let me know if you have issues with the link. The pictures should be start to finish, the press I picked up for $80, my converted bolt cutter to rivet tool, trigger guard rivet jig pieces x2, barrel pressing jig and examples. I need to make a few more jigs if I do this again or buy them. What I will definitely buy is the receiver drilling template. I thought I had pictures of the spot welder tips I purchased then filed down to fit the rails. I picked up spme steel from my cousin's welding shop and the steel blocks I purchased on ebay for pretty much shipping. https://photos.app.goo.gl/zqbMfEscwmMHAUPD7

Good luck with the build whatever you choose to do with the barrel. The barrel on this was new from Windham for like $120, which was a good deal from what I saw at the time.
