Re: The polymer firearm
I have a few plastic handguns but never liked Glocks. Subjective of course. The triggers always bit my finger. Don't know why.

Re: The polymer firearm
I've had* many metals and polymers, both pistol and rifle (though the maker of the rifle I had would insist it was 'carbon-fiber composite' not mere polymer).
I've liked them all to varying degrees, but the reasons had nothing to do with polymer or metal... (although the Kimber 1911 is a heavy beast!)
Honestly I don't draw much distinction. Polymer vs. metal is just not a reason a I like/don't like a gun, and IME (YMMV) it has zero effect on reliability or longevity (in any time-frame I care about).
In fact, I've only owned two truly unreliable guns, and it was 'one of each.'
One was a polymer pistol, but my dislike had nothing at all to do with that. It was the first 'compact' 9mm I bought for EDC. It was inaccurate, was an ammo-snob with a tendency to stovepipe if you fed it anything less than "caviar", had a shitty trigger, and was a PITA to strip.
The other was an ancient 10-gauge breaking shotgun I inherited from my grandfather (and I'm pretty sure HE had inherited it himself) that was "metal" of course, but so old & worn it had a bad tendency to 'break' when you fired it, ejecting the spent shell right back in your face.
*Note: all guns mentioned were lost overboard in a regrettable Susquehanna River boating accident last year.DGAF

Re: The polymer firearm
I like pretty much all guns as long as they actually work well. Don't have a preference to shoot, but to carry it's probably polymer for weight.
