    Default Hornady's New 6mm ARC

    Interesting Cartridge: https://vimeo.com/424873712?ref=em-v-share

I am very interested in how it performs in a Bolt Gun with a short light weight threaded barrel. Also looking for reloading data that should start coming out soon. I read on another forum that Forster will be manufacturing dies in the near future for the 6mm ACR.

Ya. Seen that. Basicly a 6mm Grendel. Nice speed on it. I'm already invested in a Grendel build or I would look into it more. My 6.5 will touch a 1000yrds so I'm not going to change anytime soon. I'm running 6.5 in an AR chassis with a 24" barrel. If I was going to build a bolt gun it would be in 6 Dasher.

Yeah, I put a 6.5 Grendel together too. Want something compact for WV deer hunting. I have two 6mm's, a .243 and a .244 Rem. Don't need more. I have or have had a bunch of 6.5's over the years and any of them are great for deer hunting.

While the 6mm ARC is interesting, I feel it's a solution to a non-existent problem. It's basically wildcatting a .243 into a 556 case. OTOH, the 6.5 Grendel already has a large selection of bullet choices due to the popularity of the 6.5 Creed and BC between the two are very similar. The ARC is traveling just a hair faster but in real world situations, the difference would be negligible. I honestly don't see the need for this? Just my thoughts, but I'm willing to be educated if I'm missing something.

I heard similar statements about the 6.5 creed.

I saw a video on FB earlier about a bullpup (Desert Tech MDR?) chambered in 6mm ARC ringing steel at 865 yards.
