We might have a +1 with us. He was the same fella who was really good at mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Pretty much all set so we just need this heat wave to burn itself out. At a loss as to what supplies or food to bring. Not much of a cook especially for a crowd so can anybody think of what there was a lack of in past shoots? Will bring plenty of 22lr, 9 and 40 to share anyway.

Would definitely recommend some kind of pop up canopy if you have one. Just some way to stay in the shade. That and plenty of water/Gatorade.

It seems like chips and stuff hardly get touched. Rob cooks up a heap of bacon and there's usually some sausages too. Maple bacon dognuts were good but the heat really had its way with them, they melted like the wicked witch of the west. Some sodas and/or Gatorade couldn't hurt and you can always take the leftovers home with you.

Not just a canopy but flags or some way to "enclose" 2 sides for more shade. I used that cheap ground blind material Walmart sells the leaf cutouts still let some breeze through

I have one of those black, mesh tarps from Harbor Freight that I thought would be good for "side walls" - allow air through, but cut back on the sun.
It didn't really help much with cutting back sunlight. I just hung a blue tarp instead and left about 2 feet open on the bottom for air.

The stuff you mentioned is probably better than my mesh for sure.

Binder clips, C-clamps, rope/twine, tent stakes...

Have a 10'×10' canopy and 2 chairs (just me coming) so can share space but some kind of sun block on the side or sides is a good idea even if halfway down because sun is pretty high in the sky this time of year. Can't rule out a thunderstorm also.

For anyone who hasn't been to the central PA shoot, here's a quick 360 degree video of the setup from 2018.

Ooo. Good idea. Last year it seemed like we were *chasing the shade* as the sun moved around in the sky. I*ll grab a cheap blue tarp and just clip it on probably
