    Default $3500 Mosin-Nagant ?

I don't know how many of you folks know about this guy, but he has good stuff. Among his current offerings is a rare 1943 VKT M39 Finn Mosin-Nagant.

The "HOLY GRAIL" of Finn M39's

FINN Model 39 Mosin-Nagant bolt-action rifle # 59184 (7.62x54R) barrel mfg. in 1943 by VKT on an hexagonal receiver. Excellent or better condition with full bluing. Bolt-knob stamped 9184 (matching), magazine floorplate and buttplate scrubbed (as usual). Bore is extremely bright and strong, includes cleaning-rod. Lovely figured postwar stock (squared finger joints) has only a few of the expected handling marks and the handguard has extremely attractive figure. The classic rarity in the series, with less than a dozen 1943-dated VKT Model 39 rifles known, lacking in even the most important museum collections. PHOTOS . . . $3,450. C&R

I'm sure it is nice for a Mosin... But it is still a Mosin.

I've owned 2. Paid under 300 for both of them together. My only regret is buying either of them at all.

Just posted for the interest aspect. Not too many (any?) in that price range...

Last one I bought some time ago was $100 at an auction in the sticks with a description as a 'white star rifle' because some one had colored in the star on the receiver.

I got a nip stick I*ll sell for oh say 8 thousand dollars. It*s only missing a lot of useless wooden things and a few metal bits. Really rare combination.

Search gun broker for the very rare ones and you will see some have gone higher then that over the past few years. There are some “grail” type ones out there. There’s at least one guy over on gunboards who can afford them he was a moderator at one time I believe goes by Martin and has a moose for an avatar. If this particular Fin is rare it will sell.

That being said it will still feed, fire, and eject like any plain old MN which is the equivalent of dog shit.

An original Remington or Westinghouse M-N in mint condition would probably bring that much.
