I honestly have no idea, I was just able to post single/double quotes from my iPhone fine.

OK, so it does it from my iPhone and iPad, but not from MacBook Pro....all running Safari.

Let me try a different browser on the iPad and see what it does.

I posted a .jpg in meme thread and instead of showing the image, it shows up as the image name with the .jpg extension. I deleted it for now.

What is interesting is if I used preview post, the quotes show up correctly! It is only once it is saved that they turn into asterisks.

This leads me to believe it may be an issue with the character set encoding on whatever table this message body is saved in.

I put quotes in the message title to see if they also turn into asterisks.

Quotes in the title do not turn into asterisks. That narrows things down. Check character set encoding on the table with the message body?
