Default Who owns a Beretta 92FS and a Sig P226?

I have four of the 92 variants but no 226s. Are the base pads interchangeable by any chance? I've seen a few things that lead me to believe they are and if so, I'd like to put a 226 extended base plate on my 92 magazines.

92 mags with metal magazine base pad insert will not fit p226 base pads without modification although the mod does look very minor.

It looks like the angle plunger just needs to be filed down a little or the hole in the base pad can be enlarged so base pad will lock in.

Alternatively it looks like you can swap the base plate inserts but on p226 mags the spring will need to be pried open or cut. looks simple enough.

92 mags with plastic base pad insert will fit p226 base pads.
