Surplus Romanian and Yugo mags are my favorites, there are other great surplus ones out there like Chinese and Russian but the prices are nuts since they have now become more of a collectible thing.

Magpul MOE AK mags are decent range mags and work in pretty much every rifle out there but they are not steel reinforced their M3's are and cost about double.

These new production Korean steel mags that are coming in right now seem to be doing well and are an excellent price. If I were not already ass deem in AK mags I would defiantly give them a go.

    $7.99 from Global Ordanance

I prefer steel surplus of European origin. I don't see them a lot these days though.

CDNN Sports has Tapcos for $8.99. I think Tapco is no longer in business, so once that supply of inexpensive mags is exhausted, another one will need to take it's place as the "go to" cheap mag. I always thought they looked funny, but they seem pretty reliable.

I don't know if there are reviews on them, but I have a few of the polymer "Bulgarian" "smooth side" mags and I like them.

Tapco always takes a lot of shit but they work and tested Away better then the MagPul MOE AK mags. I’ve never had one fail. For range mags their defiantly good to go.

I have a bunch of original US Palm AK mags. They work great. Built like a tank with steel reinforcements in all the right places. Pretty much my go-to mage for my WASR-10, though it likes everything.

The Magpul Gen3 AK mags are good too. Passed the Rob Ski test. You can find them on sale from time to time. My wife mostly uses them in her PSA KS47 because that's the only mag the infernal thing likes.

The Romanian mags with the last round bolt hold open feature are nice. Various importers sell them, but there doesn't seem to be a brand name associated with them; only country of origin.
