    Default Wilson combat matching set

I am buying a set of ar lower/upper from Wilson combat. I am familiar with the brand as I owned a 1911 in the pass, great quality. However I never owned an Ar from them, I know they are expensive but that in itself doesn’t mean good quality. I know that many company buy their parts from other manufacturers.
I am buying the set because I liked it but if it is a lower quality then I’ll use it to build a lower quality rifle, but if it is a high quality then I’ll build a higher quality rifle.

    Does anyone have any input?

    Thank you.

You are on the right track, quality in quality out. Buy the best and you can, and you will have great results.

Thank you. I am really looking to build another high quality firearm. I have a cart full of items on their website. They are expensive but if it is worth it then it's ok.

Well, none of it is “low quality”. The problem is you aren’t getting anything more for the extra money spent. If you are buying their Forged receivers then you are paying too much. They use the SAME EXACT Forgings as pretty much every other US made AR15.

And the Billet receivers are WAY overpriced because they are Billet. Not worth it to me. Although I use do use Billet lowers. But I ONLY use 80% Billets.

    Research and you will see.

If you are willing to spend the money for a Wilson, don't. Buy a JP Enterprises instead

You kidding right? Maybe if I was a killer for hire. A Wilson cost me $2800 the JP is $5000. I think $2800 is a lot of money to just hit a few paper target but $5000?????

I am sure it is a great rifle, it better be for that money, but way over what I care to spend. Thanks for the suggestion though. I never heard of them before.

Not all of their rifles are $5000, my CTR2 was around $1800

You can order in stock rifles for under $2k. https://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=20-06592

I quickly checked their site and all I saw were $5000 rifles. I am sure if I look harder I will find the rifles you are referring to . I didn't get the Wilson either because the dealer that had the lowers did not showed up to the appointment after I drove about one hour one way plus turnpike cost. Then he blamed me because they are normally closed on the day of the appointment. We spoke on the phone, and he confirmed with his partner that either one of them were going to be there. People just don't run businesses like they used to.

So for now it's on hold. Will see maybe later I'll get a nice rifle. Again it is just for paper plinking so I don't even know if it is worth spending that much money.
