    Default seeds, long term storage

    Freeze, don't freeze, something else?

Always planned on freezing my seeds and read both pro's and con's.
    Anybody freezing seeds?

I save most seeds, but carrot and onion I purchase. Looks like one of my favorite long term storage onions is currently unavailable. Hopefully not a permanent thing.
Fortunately I have a lot of older seeds, and planted some test seeds today to get a feel for germination rate, if any. Due to their age and an assumption they won't be available next year (don't know)
I want to freeze or do something to assure their viability for future gardens should they germinate.

    Any suggestions?

I purchased this: https://mypatriotsupply.com/collecti...27986490032221 back in 2016. I have kept it unopened in my cool, de-humidified basement since. Every year, I buy a few seed packets to stash and this year, I'm running a test on some of the 20 cent seed packets I bought from Walmart in 2014.

I planted collards, beets, carrots and peas out on my garden last weekend, and I planted Celebrity tomatoes and bell peppers in starter cups, to be transplanted later in the season. We'll see how the 2014ers do this Spring and that may cause me to purchase another "seed vault" when they are back in stock.

When you buy the smallest package of tomato or pepper seeds, etc you get many more than you need. So...many, many moons ago I kept them for later years. IIRC the second year had decent germination rates but after that they deteriorated on me. All I did was stuff them in a closet between years though.
