Not shocked at his "plans". Hopefully the courts will shoot down any of his crazy attempts to strip 2A rights away.

Whats really sad though, is that Joe very well might win the election, and he very well might try to push these ideas into laws.

Whats gonna happen if all these things happen? He passes all these laws. Marks ARs and AKs and all the other big bad devil guns as NFA items, along with "high capacity" mags, or just out right bans them with forced buy backs and stiff penalties for non compliance. What does the lawful, gun owning population do?

People talk tough about "from my cold, dead hands" and hitting the streets and fighting, but its not like its without precedence. We had a AWB in the 90s. Did people hit the streets and revolt? Over throw the tyrannical government taking away their rights? Maybe some protests and debating and lawsuits, but it didnt do any good. The ban stuck. Maybe this time itll be different. Maybe the huge influx of new gun owners from this last year will make a difference. More people to say "NO".

But lets be real. They could do it. They could strip those rights away, just like they did back in the 90s, and 80s, and 60s, and 30s. Get a couple democrats in the big seat a couple times in a row. Heavily push a few spree shootings in the media. Get people angry enough, and scared enough, and you can do whatever you want, especially when the biggest 2A lobby group is in hot water and trying to keep themselves together.

On the flip side though, I feel like Sandy Hook was almost the perfect storm coming together to get a ban through and it didnt happen. You were dealing with a lot of young victims, heavily politicized in the media, heavily debated in the public space, a president a lot of people liked, at a time when the political climate was really left leaning. If it couldnt happen then, idk what could spark it into fruition.

Why not? Prisons are getting run for profit with all the private prisons now. Theyll happily build a bunch more to hold the people who actively and knowingly decide to become felons, because thats what wed be. I mean, we do it with drugs, why not guns too?
