    Default laptop question

So I know a little, but not a lot about computers.
Which would be better in a laptop for around the same price:

    1 TB of HDD

    512 TB of SSD

128 GB of SSD and 1 TB of HDD

I know SSD is better but how much and in what balance based on the above 3 scenario's ?

Hoping there's a computer geek out there

    Thanks!

If you can get a 512 TB of SSD at the same price as the other 2 options, go for it.

Assuming you meant 512 GB, I would probably go for that unless you plan on keeping a lot of data, like a lot of movies, on it.

But the SSD, or the hybrid drive would both be much better than the HDD.

Just noticed my mis type. Yes, second option is 512 GB not TB. That would be crazy - lol. Yes, main goal is speed and not so much needing a ton of storage. Thanks!

Depends on what you're trying to do. If you're storing a lot of data long term and not using it often, normal HDD's are just fine. If you're getting a normal use laptop to use everyday, hands down go SSD. They're cheap enough now that you should always use SSD as your main drive. If you need storage, get a desktop or something and load a few old school spinners in it with high capacity.

Not really a whole lot of difference, though more storage is usually always better.
I would be more concerned with the brand/make/model and its current reputation and reviews.
You can always buy more storage.
    5 TB drives are cheap.

If it's the boot drive you'll want that SSD. You can always buy a cheap external HDD for extra storage, but you're going to want the quick boot up of an SSD.

Thanks all. Won’t be a lot of pictures or video/movie stored. A lot of video meetings, and then just work from home , etc. so looking for speed mostly and not as concerned with storeage. Currently best deal I see is a HP 2 in 1 touch screen. Sounds like 512 SSD best for me. The 128 ssd with 1tb HDD was a thought but for what I’m using it for sounds like 512 ssd would be better.
