RIFLE SLING - Edgar Sherman Design

I need to get one of these. Looks like they came out in 2018.
It has all the features I love about a few different slings all wrapped up in one.

I've been singing the praises of the Frank Proctor sling for it's minimalist, lightweight design and super-easy/affordable mounting method (paracord) for a few years, but this sling APPEARS to have an easier to manipulate slide buckle and I like the fact that the attachment paracord can be made to whatever length YOU want, and can be replaced. With the Proctor sling, the paracord is built into the end of the sling.

This ESD sling seems to use a slightly heavier material, but I can't say for certain. It does look suitable for heavier rifles.

The fact that it includes a method of containing the sling to store it tight against the rifle and is easily deployed, is a HUGE bonus.
I have figured out a way to use a ranger band to cinch up my other slings, but THIS design is way better.

I can't speak to the ruggedness, but it appears more rugged than my Proctor slings and they aren't garbage either.

I looked at some Vtac vids and that seems more complicated, having two places where adjustments are made - the "floppy tail" and the string tab.
Sure, it has that "keeper" sewn in to manage that excess sling material, but it doesn't operate the same way when it's not flopping loose, and for some adjustments, you have to "rip it free".
It just seems like more to think about vs the one tab that adjusts in both directions and doesn't leave that tail flopping around.

The Vtac is a single setup with no adjustments, all manipulation is done by sliding the strap.
No unnecessary buckles to snag, break, or come loose, no extra loops all over the place.
Simple and well made with one moving part, it's the only sling I use.

Sling came fast! I have to say I’m impressed for the price.

This really has the visual appearance, at least in ranger green, of being an AK sling, but it will work the same on anything.

Stitching and material look good, though being thin and lacking a padded section, it could get uncomfortable after hours of use mixed with sweat and heat.

The rapid sling length adjustment pull is quick and easy to use. Very well done. My only concern is breaking the piece you pull on after a lot of use, UV exposure, cold weather etc.

Compared to a VTAC sling, the VTAC is just as thin but has softer material and the one I have has a padded section. But the ESD has a much better rapid adjustment slider.

Compared to a BFG sling, it is wider and has a padded section, but the material is rougher. BFG adjustment slider is equally quick and easy to use.

I doubt anyone will be disappointed with an ESD sling unless you wear it for multiple hot humid days in a row or break the adjuster pull.
