I just happened upon this review/comparison vid where he discusses 4 different slings, including the ESD sling.

I'm a big fan of the ferro slingster. Same idea as the ESD. Got 3 of them now. They are easy to set up, smooth to adjust, and keep all the webbing well managed so there's no random tails flapping around

Got my sling in the mail a few days ago. Just opened it today.

I haven't rigged up my paracord mounting point to the handguard yet though, so I haven't tried the sling ON the rifle, but I will say that the adjustment slide moves pretty nicely.
The material is thinner than I expected, but not as cheap feeling as the Sheriff of Baghdad sling I had purchased several years ago.
I don't think it would be very comfortable for long-term carry of a heavy rifle (because it's thin and narrow), but I knew that going into it, and that was not what I was looking for in a sling anyway.

Initial thoughts after adding sling to 16" carbine:

Likes:
- The adjustment method is stupid-easy. Grab the handle and pull it back, or forward. Simple.
No need to push against the sling with the rifle for leverage - no need to use two different methods - one for loosening, and one for tightening - both are done using the exact same method.

- It's light.
- It's free of dangling, flappy, pull thingies.
- It's very easy to adjust the overall size and I didn't have excess sling material that needed cut off.
- There seems to be a good amount of "adjustment area" (the area where the "back and forth" takes place) on the forward part of the sling.
- The "keeper" that keeps the webbing from tangling when adjusting also works like a ranger band to tuck the sling into for keeping things neat and tidy.


Dislikes:
- The sling material is thin.
I'm not sure how I would rate it on a scale of "dislike" - it barely even qualifies as a dislike, to be honest, but I DO prefer the material that my Gear Sector slings are made of. That said, I think the choice of webbing used is a big part of why it adjusts SO EASILY.
- I think that's it.



I'll have to keep playing with it, but I may very well end up replacing my other Gear Sector slings with these ESD slings.
The Gear Sector sling is nice, but my biggest gripe is that "opening it up" is a more difficult movement than cinching it down. You have to use a finger to tip the tri-glide back so you can slide it back - PLUS you need to apply a slight amount of pressure pushing away with the rifle to really get it to slide well.
Tightening up the Gear Sector sling is EASY - just grab the dangling tab and pull.
To me, it's more important to be able to LOOSEN it easily and quickly than it is to tighten it up to keep it close to your chest.
The ESD sling makes it fast and EASY to do BOTH motions. It really is incredibly simple in it's operation.

I like mine, currently it*s on my full size AK. I echo Empty Mag in my review of it. If there is ever a carbine course near me that I can take I*ll see how it holds up. Right now idk if I would want to stand around with a heavy rifle slung from it at a rally because like was said earlier it*s a little narrow. For the rallies I think I*ll stick with my wide padded VTAC.
