Default Stripped threads on holographic sight

I have a Sightmark holograph sight and the threads pulled out of the rear ‘fixed’ end of the base. Emailed Sightmark asking if they sell that part, or can repair it. Made it clear it’s not under warranty and I am willing to pay for repairs.
Got an email back saying basically,” it’s not under warranty. We won’t fix it. “
It’s a good unit, on an AR 15 pistol that rarely gets used, but I want it ready to go and serviceable. Any ideas/tips to repair it? Base appears to be aluminum. D6BF5A2F-921D-4C83-95F0-FC53ACC0F035.jpgthe threads that are pulled out are closest to my thumb.

Drill it out and tap to a bigger diameter bolt perhaps?

That was my first thought. Shouldn't even need to drill it, since its aluminum, just tap it out one size larger.

    Looks like an m6

    Looks like an m10?
Yeah, larger bolt won’t work because it will not ride correctly in the picatinny Rail. I’m going to try to disassemble it and look into an insert.

Possibly filling with a little JB-Weld drill retap hole.

Longer bolt with a nut on the outside?

Or even better, a sheet metal screw.
