    Default FAL Kits

Anyone have any experience with FAL kits similar to this:

Comes with everything except receiver and barrel. How difficult and expensive are they to find?

    Thanks in advance,

The FAL files forum is a great resource for all things FAL.

Get a new receiver from DSA. I'm not sure which receiver type you need for that kit. You will probably buy your 922r compliant parts as well from DSA. DSA may sell a barrel, but you can shop on the FAL files forum, Apex parts, Sarco, and other places.

I have a FAL receiver wrench and gauge pins from my metric IMBEL build that I don't plan on reusing. Send me a PM if you're interested in purchasing them. You will need a no go gauge and vise blocks for holding the barrel in a vise, among other tools.

    I think I remember following this write-up: http://www.cruffler.com/trivia-April01-assembly.html

Overall, not a very challenging build. More advanced than an AR build by far, but I think it was easier than an AK build. Just my opinion. The most time consuming part was timing the barrel and fitting it to the receiver. Still, when finished, I said "hmm that wasn't as hard as I expected". It took a lot of muscle to keep threading that barrel into and out of the receiver to keep fitting the shoulder to line it up.

Thanks for the info, I guess I have a lot of homework to do before I start anything.
