Default Dry fire practice made easy! No snap caps required!

just a 10 cent o-ring. Easy on your hammer and firing pin, and lasts a lot longer than a snap cap too.

It stays put with friction. Just use an O-ring that's slightly larger in outer diameter than the hammer notch in the back of the slide (or frame in a revolver). When you push the O-ring into place, it will deform slightly into an oval as seen in the picture.

Mine hasn't shifted position at all, even while rapidly cycling the slide to recock the hammer for simulated single action fire.

Interesting idea. I'd be concerned someone might forget to remove the o-ring after practicing. That would leave them with an inoperable gun if they needed to use it. Harder to forget to remove snap-caps.

That's easy enough to check for but you do have to make it part of the routine before carrying.

I was gonna say...what about those of us who actually carry the CORRECT type of pistol? The ones that use Striker Fire?
