Out of state gift of handgun
If someone could please refresh my memory. It's been so long since I've encountered this situation. The situation: A friend of mine's father wants to gift a handgun to my friend's daughter; his granddaughter. Obviously if she was a resident of Pa. this would pose no question as per the provisions of the UFA. However said Granddaughter lives in Va. and has legal residence there. She does get to Pa. to visit her family fairly regularly.
Does the handgun have to be shipped to a Va. FFL or would her grandfather just giving her the firearm with a bill of gift be adequate if she picked it up in person?
Thanks in advance for any assistance but please; no guesses.

Re: Out of state gift of handgun
A handgun has to go through a FFL transfer in the state the recipient lives in.

Gotta go through FFL in Virginia. He can ship it or meet her at a shop there in person.
