    Default Looking for surplus 7.62x25

This is a tough find, but ya never know who might know where to find some.

I'm looking for a certain Czech surplus 7.62x25 ammo. Specifically, it is in a plain brown box is stamped in red with the following: 7,62 mm naboje pistoletowe 70 szi

Anyone recognizes this load, I'd like to hear about it.

Mauser 7.63 x 25 can be shot in a CZ52 or Tok TT33 (or Chinese clones) but NEVER shoot 7.62 x 25 in a C96 unless you really want to be known as "one-eye". The 7.62 x 25 was based on the Mauser 7.63 and they are almost identical but note the almost! Normal max for 7.63 is around 1250 fps; the 7.62 can go as high as 1650 fps. There are commercial 7.63 loads out there (try Midway) and they look just like the 7.62 BUT THEY AIN'T. Dave_n

Update: I was told when I given this ammo many years ago, that it was Czech manufactured, but I found that "naboje pistoletowe" is Polish for pistol cartridges. Sure enough, I think I found it for sale on Gunbroker. Even the headstamp appears to be an exact match. I just emailed the seller to confirm the box stamping and cartridge characteristics.

Like Dave n pointed out, if it's the same stuff I have, it's a very hot round. I'm down to my last two boxes, so I hope this is the stuff I'm after.

The Centerfire stuff does not appear to be the same as I am looking for. From the website's photo, it lacks the three stab crimp and appears to be headstamped at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock positions, which are features not indicitive to mine.

I saw in another thread, where PA Rifleman mentions coming across a very hot round which was eating his TT-33 ejectors. I believe this to be the stuff I am probably looking for. It should only be used in a CZ52.

Still waiting to hear back from the Gunbroker seller.

www.centuryarms.com has some polish listed on their ammo page of the online catalog. No pictures, though.

Enck's Gun Barn in Newmanstown had a few different flavors of 7.62 x 25 the last time I was there. Not sure if he has the specific rounds you're looking for though.

I ordered 500 rounds of .223 from Centerfire a few weeks back. They are good, the only bad this is that they don't tell you how much shipping will cost until after you have ordered, and they do not send an email once it has shipped.

Overall, I had no problems though.
