Re: Stimulus check
I've paid in by check for at least 5 years now, so I suspect I'll get a paper check in December.

Re: Stimulus check
Mine is showing in my back account as a 'pending' deposit for 4/15.
No joy in it for me. It's borrowed money we can't afford. Payback will be a bitch, with interest.DGAF

Re: Stimulus check
wife ain't getting her garden window.
her job just announced they're taking 3% of annual her pay back for the year, starting next pay check, and for the next 4. so for 5 consecutive checks she'll be getting 25% less on the check.Member: NJ "undocumented" Felons Club. NRA Life Member

Re: Stimulus check
I won't be getting a check because my wife and I make too much (filing jointly). However, I do not begrudge my tax dollars being spent on those who need it...even if they really don't and are just spending it on their n+1 gun (where n is the number of guns they already have) and extra ammo, but I also don't begrudge the single mom in front of me who pays for her groceries with an ACCESS card while talking on an iPhone. Some federal programs are worth the loopholes for those who really need them.
By the way, the stimulus check is a "tax credit" against your 2020 taxes. However, another part of the bill also includes a forgiveness for this over payment so nobody will have to repay their stimulus amount even if, by chance, one wins the lottery in 2020 (or gets a large raise) and his/her taxable income for the year comes in above the cutoffs for actually qualifying. The only reason why the bill was written in a way to call it a "tax credit" was so the government could use the payment infrastructure of the IRS to disseminate the payments (whether direct deposit or paper check). With that said, I understand the argument that any money the government spends is money out of the taxpayers' pockets and thus will have to be paid by "us" at sometime in the future. Call me a Democrat, but I believe this is a better use of my tax dollars (remember I am not getting a stimulus check to spend on the necessities of getting through the shutdown or my N-teenth firearm) than to have my taxes make up the difference because the likes of Amazon and Exxon/Mobil have effective tax rates of 0% or less.
Rant over...enjoy the guns my tax dollars are buying for you.
