Gettysburg - Open Carry - Maskless - Peaceful Protest
ETA: Pennsylvania has the LARGEST MONUMENT on that battlefield - And rightly so!

March 3 - National Anthem Day would be great (except it is a Wednesday)
--------- The British Tried to UNDO Our Freedom - We beat them back!

March 7 - National Be Heard Day - Sunday - Be Heard Fighting for Our Freedoms
--------- Typically for Small Businesses to Be Heard (which is also relevant)

March 14 - Day Light Savings Day - Sunday - Saving Daylight & Saving Our Freedoms

I finally got my hair cut today. First time since last January. I go to a small time classic type barber shop that also has rental properties. He said he was shut down for 4 months. All that time, his tenant were told they didn't have to pay their rent, but he still had two mortgages to pay or lose his home and business. Plus his employees have bills to pay. They are a fairly busy shop too, probably bringing in a couple thousand per day at $17/head.

all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

That thing about not paying rent...my understanding is a deferment not a total forgiveness.

A friend of mine has it for his mortgage, hasn't paid it in almost a year.
It just gets thrown on the back of the loan.

The BS will now be flying fast and furious all over the country. The feds are looking to usurp the power of the states in addition to oppressing the population. And the money dangled in front of the governors will entice them to embrace the federal takeover.

Biden signs burst of virus orders, vows ‘Help is on the way’
By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR and ZEKE MILLER - January 21, 2021
    https://apnews.com/article/biden-sig...d83d977e895353

The new president has vowed to take far more aggressive measures to contain the virus than his predecessor, starting with stringent adherence to public health guidance. A key difference is that under Biden, the federal government is assuming full responsibility for the COVID response. And instead of delegating major tasks to states, he is offering to help them with technical backup and federal money.

    <SNIP>

Biden’s mask order for travel applies to airports and planes, ships, intercity buses, trains and public transportation. Travelers from abroad must furnish a negative COVID-19 test before departing for the U.S. and must quarantine upon arrival. Biden has already mandated masks on federal property.

Although airlines, Amtrak and other transport providers now require masks, Biden’s order makes it a federal mandate, leaving little wiggle room for passengers tempted to argue about their rights. The action was applauded by airline unions and supported by a major industry trade group.

It marks a sharp break with the culture of President Donald Trump’s administration, under which masks were optional, and Trump made a point of going maskless and hosting big gatherings of like-minded supporters. Science has shown that masks, properly worn, cut down on coronavirus transmission.

Biden said his administration’s coronavirus decisions would be based on science, not politics.

Here are just two examples (there are more) related to (not) Following The Science:

Science has shown that early treatment of the Coronavirus, by your doctor while you are at home (before hospitalization is required), can reduce the death toll for those who contract the Coronavirus. Yet, there is little, if any, public promotion of that information and approach. Because, early-on, Trump promoted the prophylactic approach (using Chloroquine and/or other existing drugs), the leftists & leftist media criticized, attacked, or downplayed that approach, to the detriment (and possible deaths) of many patients who might otherwise have benefited from it.

Science has shown that, like most medical procedures, medications and treatment regimens, there are real side-effects to the widespread lockdowns. The lack of medical attention to other detrimental and life-threatening conditions (heart disease, cancers, etc.), while most glaring, is not the only side-effect. The effects of this promotion of FEAR produces many more psychological problems (especially for young people) over the 'maybes & mights' of thinking that EVERYONE must be treated as though they have the same risk level as the most vulnerable. Something as simple as fresh air is a tremendous benefit to one's general health and the lack of it is likewise detrimental. Even the act of bunkering down inside your home, not opening your doors for entry and exit, increases the detriment of being locked down. The benefit of fresh air infusion into your home is severely reduced.

The mandatory wearing of masks is included in that list of procedures that engenders many risks that are unaddressed. The 'properly worn' caveat is a factor to any benefit (however, slight) of wearing a mask, but the 'proper handling & cleaning' of those must also be considered. However, by simple observance of the populace in public venues who have a mask, it is obvious that any (slight) benefit that might be obtained by mandating the use of masks is overridden by the improper storage (in pocket, in car consoles or glove boxes, etc.) and application of those masks (placed below the nose, heavier breathing because of the mask, lifting the mask to speak more clearly, etc.). One can only speculate on the lack of consistent & immediate laundering of these masks after being exposed to the general public.

While there might be some truth to the benefits of 'PERFECT MASK WEARING', or 'PERFECT CONTAINMENT', or 'PERFECT MEDICATION', little of that exists in real life circumstances. Even in hospital environments, where there is a high degree of attention to these efforts, they only result to minimize (not eliminate) contamination of patients. Mandatory procedures must be evaluated on the actual public application of those procedures and the side-effects that are real. A surgeon might be very effective at removing diseased organs. One could assert that 'PERFECT SURGERIES ARE EFFECTIVE', but it is not a procedure you would mandate on the public, or even mandate that hospital orderlies should perform.

In so much of the Panic Response to the actual risk of the Coronavirus, actions are demanded & perpetrated on the populace without logically thinking them through while many are based on a biased agenda. Those who wield this 'power to demand' (with threats of fines and jail time) are never held responsible for the consequences of their irresponsible demands and actions (like placing coronavirus-confirmed patients in nursing homes). Like unscrupulous prosecutors who can use their official status to oppress whomever they choose, yet are totally immune from accountability (gun owners are familiar with this), these coronavirus power mongers escape any valid repercussions for their violation of the public trust. And the federal bailouts of these states is simply rewarding bad behavior.

Much more information should be publicly provided (rather than squelched) so individuals can make their own assessment of the risks involved in whatever action they choose to take. Governemental officials should give their assessments and recommendations (not mandates), but the public should be allowed to decide. If you feel the public is not taking proper precautions, then stay out of those public places.

Of all the claims from those in charge of the Coronavirus Panic, FOLLOWING THE SCIENCE is one of the most UNTRUTHFUL statements being made. In many circumstances these days, WORDS that might have some truth in them are widely BEING USED TO TELL DELIBERATE LIES!

    ==========================

-- DON'T PANIC -- Use your brain to make good decisions.
There are real risks in getting the Coronavirus, but don't exaggerate them.
Read up on the risk level for various age groups & conditions - Act accordingly.

Potential positive actions you should voluntarily consider:

Reduce your exposure - especially to crowds
. Shop in smaller venues or at times of lesser crowding
. Use available online shopping with contact-free pickup (support your local businesses)
. Minimize public (crowded) excursions by consolidating your errands into less trips
. Avoid berating others for different choices - Avoid the venue if that seems necessary
. If not-in-your-home family members are vulnerable, help minimize their exposure

Wash your hands and face regularly, especially after public excursions
. Use hand sanitizer in public places (carry some with you or in your vehicle)
. When in public, only touch things as necessary (think groceries, etc.)

    Stay generally healthy
    . Keep a positive attitude
. Eat right - Minimize excesses of junk food & fast foods
. Drink plenty of water - flush out your system
. Get regular exercise - minimize excesses of sitting & watching screens
. . Find uncrowded parks or playgrounds - or walking trails

If sick (sneezing, coughing, etc.), do not expose others
. If you absolutely must go into the public, wear a mask when sick
. . Keep your fluids to yourself
. . Be sure to clean it thoroughly after every use, keeping multiple masks available
. If you have other compounding medical conditions, take extra care about exposures

If you test positive for the coronavirus
. Discuss early treatment with your doctor before it becomes severe
. Voluntarily quarantine to prevent exposing others

    Be Sane - Be Safe!
