I have FN FNX 9 with a crimson trace CMR 204 laser/light combo that's perfect for in house day or night protection. The reason I use this one over some others I own is I have run 115 124 & 147 gr ammo though it and it never FTF's, stovepipes or jams. I want this kind of reliability in a gun that's not so particular or picky about what ammo I have on hand.

Subconsciously my mind instructs me to keep a .357 on the nightstand and on my waist around camp. Everywhere else I carry an HK P30.

Nice picture! ^^^ What's the booze?

When I first starting in LE in the 80's we carried revolvers, so I have a soft spot for them to this day.

None, cuz I live in Suburban Tranquillity.

But, otherwise, it would be the 92FS.

Keeping a centerfire rifle in my neighborhood would be irresponsible. Even at the low population density. And many people are irresponsible.

Where I live the kids don’t even blow up mailboxes.

A .38 revolver lies at the top end of my bed, with a 1911 .45 close by on the table. I figure if I am awakened in the middle of the night, with the .38 I am ready to go. Having no safeties to mess with in a semi-awake state is a good thing.

I get why firing it on your own property in a suburban neighborhood could be potentially dangerous and irresponsible, but owning one wouldn't be irresponsible unless you have good reason to believe someone in your home is going to misuse it.

I live near a dangerous urban yute center, high power centerfire rifle and standard capacity magazines at the ready.

There's between 12 and 20 feet between the houses along my street and I am not the least bit concerned about using a "centerfire rifle" (wtf?) to protect my family and my life should the need arise.
    (a) brick homes
    (b) the immediate threat is a much larger concern than the minuscule odds of a stray round harming a neighbor.
    (c) Handguns suck.

    Fuck that "irresponsible" bullshit.

Not to mention the fact that with the proper ammunition choices, a "centerfire rifle" creates less over penetration than a 12 ga shotgun.

How did we go from nightstand guns, to child-maiming centerfire rifles?
