Side note. They cleaned out a Warminster cops house 5 or six years ago. He lives a block from the station and there’s always a marked car in front of his house. Pretty brazen! On the other hand, it is a Warminster cop, so was he really robbed, or was the insurance company robbed? We might never know.

UHaul van is a great way to do it too. Happened to a house within sight line of mine.

If the ceiling in your basement is unfinished, is there ductwork up there between the floor joists? Add some fake ductwork.

Think about putting up a false wall somewhere. My previous house had a partially finished basement but the way they did it the unfinished portions were not exact squares. In one area I could frame a section off and cover it with drywall leaving a 2x8 area behind it. I walled it off and put a spare piece of paneling (on the short end) on hinges. It was behind the water heater so no one would notice anything. When I sold the house I left the "door" open for the new owners to find.

Look around your house and see if you can do anything like this. Or if you have a large walk in closet try putting up something there.

I kept the box from my gun cabinet and cut one side, and the bottom off, turned it inside out, and slipped it over my cabinet.
It was hard to slide the whole thing off to access the cabinet door, so I cut down along the one side, and along the top to make a "door" (the entire front and top) in the cardboard
It says "X-MAS TREE - 2006" across it in Sharpie marker.
I added silver duct tape to make it appear authentic, and the tape keeps the "door" closed.
Pile up other boxes near it - "X-MAS LIGHTS" and "ORNAMENTS".

There's many place you can stash a gun in a house. pull your couch out and flip it over, cut that cheesy ass cloth and stash one or more in the frame work, tie it off and flip the couch back up. Suspended ceilings are semi OK. Pull a bottom dresser drawer out the whole way. Is there space under it for something? Hell, just stick one behind the refrigerator.
What ever you do, DON'T put any with your toilet paper.

That’s one element: financial loss mitigation.

Other considerations are the challenge of replacing firearms at a time of shortages.

Also, cash compensation may be inadequate for firearms acquired through inheritance, private transactions, or self-manufacture.
