    Default Range Traffic?

With all kids out of high school and college for at least a couple of weeks, how much "traffic" are you seeing at your local ranges? I belong to a private club, and normally there are only two or three folks at the range besides me, at least on weekdays, and they are experienced shooters like myself. We do not have a Range Safety Officer present, so the range is self-policing. This normally works just fine, but having lots of shooters there, especially novice shooters, makes me very nervous. Trying to figure out whether to postpone a trip until quieter times.

I was alone at the pistol bays at PMSC Sunday morning at 11:00 AM. I only heard a few shots from the rifle range. As I was leaving, someone else drove up. That was it.

My report is from last week, but I had the ranges to myself twice at midday last week, one in Bucks and one in Philly.

Where do ranges -- outside and inside -- fit into Comrade Wolf's closure orders.

If I'm shooting at my outdoor range is the National Guard going to roll up on me?

I suppose the answer changes if we get a quarantine in place order next.

I know where he'd like them to fit in.

As of today, Wolf hasn't mandated closure of any businesses, but he has "strongly urged nonessential businesses to close for 14 days."

My range is guarded with key/card gate and I don't consider it to be a business subject to Wolf's suggestion. I do need to get there and practice.

I'll repost what I said in the Coronavirus thread:

I went to my local range after work yesterday.
I felt like Charlton Heston in The Omega Man. I had the entire place to myself.
I could get used to this.

My wife and I went to PMSC yesterday morning. There was another shooter using a bay next to ours and we heard some rifle work at another bay down the path. It was nice to finally get outside, been going up to Keystone over the Winter months.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

I am glad I got out to the range a few weeks ago. I have been shooting a little less than usual lately. I brought a pistol that I hadn't shot in years, so I felt good about the experience.

The wife and I went out around 10:30 this morning and met two cars leaving as we were entering. We had the place to ourselves for over an hour, still empty when we left. Went to the county park next to the range about 2PM to stretch our legs. Big park and only saw a half-dozen people. Maybe it was the weather (chilly and overcast).
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will...
