Re: PA Sheriffs use COVID as a reason to suspend LTCF processing.
Picked a bad time to re-apply for my LTCF apparently. I'll contact West Chester Sheriff's office tomorrow, but don't expect them to be open after reading this thread.

Welcome To The Sheriff's Office
Mission
The mission of the Berks County Sheriff's Office is to promote a safe environment for our community.
About Sheriff's Office
The Berks County Sheriff's Office is staffed with 107 full-time employees, operates a fleet of 30 vehicles and occupies three floors of the Berks County Courthouse. The office is responsible for elements of criminal court, civil court, enforcement of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Motor Vehicle Code, and has a licensing issuance and enforcement function. The office service area not only includes all of Berks County but is often required to travel the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the entire United States. The office services tens of thousands of civil customers in the county and handles over 12,000 criminal defendants each year. The Sheriff's Office is organized into 6 Divisions: Civil, Court, Patrol, Central Booking, K-9 and Warrants.
ATTENTION:
Closure Notification!!
The Airport Substation will be closed starting Wednesday, March 18th until further notice.
New Pennsylvania License to Carry Permits will be issued at the Berks County Courthouse. We ask anyone who is due to renew a permit wait until the county and state resume normal operations. Don’t expose yourself if it is not necessary.
Remember you are allowed up to a 6 months extension on your current permit.
2010 Pennsylvania Code
Title 18 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES
Chapter 61 - Firearms and Other Dangerous Articles
6106 - Firearms not to be carried without a license.
§ 6106. Firearms not to be carried without a license.
(a) Offense defined.--
(b) Exceptions
(12) A person who has a lawfully issued license to carry
a firearm pursuant to section 6109 (relating to licenses) and
that said license expired within six months prior to the date
of arrest and that the individual is otherwise eligible for
renewal of the license.
I thought one of our resident Lawers stated in the past that this was only a defense and you could use it in front of a judge but you were probably getting arrested first.Last edited by Gunsnwater; March 18th, 2020 at 01:36 PM.

It is and he is wrong. Turn in your paperwork and watch for the reminder in the mail.
If they want to limit exposure they should ask the county commissioners for the 20 bucks per county resident, process them, and then mail then to every person in the county without the citizen being inconvenienced."Cives Arma Ferant"
