Re: PA Sheriffs use COVID as a reason to suspend LTCF processing.
I thought there was some provision/remedy in the law for a Sheriff that fails to perform his legal requirement (in PA) to grant LTCF's. Perhaps I'm just remembering what should be?

Re: PA Sheriffs use COVID as a reason to suspend LTCF processing.
Good.
Hold up, hear me out.
For several years now, there has been an unlawful practice of sheriffs refusing to accept applications from nonresidents. This is a dangerous precedent to allow to be set (for everyone, not just nonresidents), but since nonresidents can just go to the next county over, very few are willing to challenge the law (so far as I know, I'm the only one who tried, and when the sheriff saw what I was up to, he changed his tune and took away my standing for legal complaint).
I have been saying for a while that the only way this will get resolved is if they start applying the same unlawful behavior to residents. Well, here we are. Let's see what happens. I will be one of the first contributors to a legal fund if anyone decides to try and straighten this out. Let's do it!

This was in the local net rag, Clarion county: "Effective Immediately, licenses for a Concealed Carry Permit of a handgun is suspended. As per Title 18 of the PA Crimes Code Section 6106 B 12, all current permits are good for an additional six (6) months"

Berks sheriff facebook says airport and Reading courthouse open, all others closed. A friend of mine tried to call the courthouse office and got automatically transferred to the satellite offices which transferred her back to the courthouse.

They want to keep it that way
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Added Monroe and Luzerne, and changed the formatting to put the growing list into alphabetical order.
