    Default Going Shooting !

The heck with the "VIRUS", I'm getting outside today while the weathers nice and do some shooting.

I bought a Savage Mdl 72 .22Lr back before X-mas that needs shooting. I'm gonna run several types of .22LR thru it, plus some "shorts".

I had seen one of these simple "falling-block" rifles some time ago in a shop, but let it get away from me before I could make up my mind to buy it.

When I got a second chance to pick one up, I didn't make the mistake again twice.

Now I just need to get out and shoot it.

    What a great rifle.

The Savage is a tack driver at 50yds from a rest. It took me a while to get used to the "falling block" design, but the more I shot it, the easier it became.

I was getting a steady 3" group from anything I put thru it ( 50yds ). It really liked the Fiocchi Subsonic ammo and that gave me my best group at 1.5" from the rest.

I'm really glad I bought this fun little rifle.
