    Default WTH is this Taurus!!!

    After waiting 6 months to receive my replacement model 605 this shows up at my FFL. Its a model 605 with some sort of an extended barrel that has rifling. I never saw anything like this nor is this model on Taurus' website. I plan to contact them first chance I get. In the meantime does anyone have any idea what this may be or has anyone ever seen this before?

    Maybe its one of those "oops we made a mistake" guns that may turn out to be a collectors item and "if" possible worth something. Nay who am I kidding - its a Taurus LOL

    Looks like their version of a 3 inch barrel done on the cheap.

    Maybe it is suppose to be threaded for one of those magic revolver silencers...

    What do the markings on the box say? May be a clue there.

    Is there a latch on the other side?
    The barrel may extend even further, making it a carbine revolver!

    Taurus does sell a 3 inch barreled 605, but it sure doesn't look like that. I wonder if this is some kind of mistake gun. I read somewhere that some guns were shipped from South America, with 3 inch barrels, then cut down, because of import laws. What I would do, is send that pic to customer service, and ask them what it is.
