I guess growing up on farms should pay off well. We used to jump out of the loft into the manure pile, have "horse bean" fights, spread compost in the garden, muck out horse stalls, pig pens and cattle pens, run the manure spreader, haul off carcasses by hand, you name it I've been exposed to it.

If you can ride your bike from my house to the nearest walmart and back in less than 6 hours I'll buy you a new one.

Not a bad idea even if it isn't a requirement, he's going to need the water after going up some of the hills and the TP after the ride down.

I don't own a plane these days like Walleye. But, I can fly damn near anything with one engine. And, I'm willing to take a chance on multis.

Just putting this out there. LMAO

Don't forget, I'm near an airport with lax security and a variety of air craft.

By the time you need a bicycle to survive, the local Walmart will be empty.

The bike is for getting to the local farmer's market, for meeting at the swap meets where locals trade baggies of hardware for a handful of blueberries.

However long it takes you to bike there, it will take a lot longer to walk there. And you'll use a lot more calories to walk than to bike.

In times of severe hardship, bikes are like gold. Guns will be necessary from time to time, bikes will be necessary every day.

even if all you do is walk the bike up half the hill and coast down the other half, you have cut your energy consumption in half.
moped or bike conversion might be a good idea in these circumstances. best of both worlds, little engine, little weight, little fuel consumption, easy to remove if fuel goes tits up and still has pedals.
