One video I watched suggested freezing it as soon as you buy it because it goes bad after thawing at the same rate as if it were not frozen.
So if you have a week until the sell by date when you freeze it, you will have a week to use it once thawed.

Wife and I freeze whole milk without any issues.
We would also freeze milk for when we go on vacation, because it would double as a block of ice in the cooler.

People make shitty ice cream using shitty 2% milk. No reason you can't freeze the shitty 2% milk all by itself. It will still be shitty 2% milk when you thaw it.

I hear what you're saying. It took a while for me to adjust to 2% after growing up on milk from the farm right up the road where they put the rubber hose into the milk jug, filled it to overflowing, recapped it, and rinsed it off for you. Real milk.
(we had to shake it before use because it wasn't homogenized)

There's no health benefit to reduced fat milk and it tastes disgusting.

When I was a kid, the good stuff was 'Golden Guernsey' which I think was like 3.5% butterfat. Normal milk is like 3%, or as they like to say 97% fat free! I am not giving up the good taste for a lousy percent...

EDIT: The Guernsey is a dairy breed, and is reared for that purpose only. The milk has a golden-yellow tinge due to a high content of β-carotene, a provitamin for vitamin A. The milk also has a high butterfat content of 5% and a high protein content of 3.7%.

Guernsey milk is also A2 which is supposed to be healthier and good for folks with milk digestive issues.

If consuming dairy causes digestive issues, is it lactose intolerance? Or could it be protein intolerance? Research suggests that a common form of cow's milk beta-casein protein (called A1) could potentially cause stomach pain and other gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms. Another variant of the protein, called A2, isn't associated with these adverse effects.

This make me laugh. It is kind of true and I was a hold-out on switching to 2% milk but I don't remember why I switched. But now I find that whole milk is the one that tastes disgusting.

Any milk is better than powdered milk however, there are a few boxes in the pantry just in case.
