Point is with the right bike you don't have to worry about a few potholes... or even roads.

And all you need to do it is a couple decades of practice. In that kind of collapse you can keep you're bike, I'm getting a horse.

The latest Aldi test meal verdicts:

"Luncheon meat" - pass, but I already went and bought Spam at Costco instead.
Baked beans - fail. The kids like Bush's better.
    Canned green beans - pass.
    Mandarin oranges - pass.

Yesterday's cheeseburger skillet meal - pass. Might buy a few next time.

My prep idea is to have a 100 watt solar panel (or two) and at least 4 6v golf cart batteries so you can at least have some power for lights and a radio. Even on cloudy days they produce electricity.

Just a tip about solar panels about something I recently learned about them. As they get hotter, they get less efficient. If you can devise a way to keep them cool, they'll be more efficient. I know that's a tough thing to do for an object that's black and is intended to be in direct sunlight, but it can be done.

Maybe plug in a fan to the solar panel battery-----then its only function will be to power the fan to keep the panel cool---

There are hot water solar panels that do work for heating water. The panels are filled with antifreeze and it's pumped through the panels and into a heat exchanger to heat water for the house. There's no reason why panels that create electricity couldn't be combined with the hot water panels so that you're doing both. The fluid would help keep the panels cool so that they're more efficient. I don't know if anyone has put those two ideas together yet or not, but it would make sense. The circulator pump is actually fairly low current, it could easily be run directly by the panels.
