Hitting this thread again...seems there are enough of us to put a few parties together.

Between all of us, we could split the cost of tooling if enough of us jump on this. What say you?

It's not as easy as it appears it should be. Time to do one is like 1 1/2 hours IIRC and the work is tedious and tiresome. If someone wanted to use the equipment and gouge one out, that's no problem but the only way to demonstrate is to do one and it is a chore. Fun one time and one time only.

Having the right equipment would be a prerequisite for me. No hand held jigs or eyeing with my thumb. If we have the means to use good equipment, I am all for it. Otherwise, like you said...a PITA.

I think we need to have a group buy for a small building in SC with a Bridgeport and a lathe. SC residency and carry permit, and long weekend lower milling trips...

I found 32 acres in Wyoming for a steal of only in the $30,000 range. We could build a compound and a large work shop. Anyone in?

I'm down the road in Exton. I was a toolmaker in a previous occupation. I can help if still needed. And I have some tools.
