Default LTCF approved DelCo 36 days

Got my approval letter today for my LTCF after 36 business days, yet letter was dated 10/7/2008 (28 days). I was expecting this in 2 more weeks to arrive, so I can't complain.

I love the notes on the letter, one in particular

    5. Your license is only good in THE STATE OF PENNSYLVANIA

Hmmm Sheriff, I thought PA had reciprocity with 20 or so states

Actually, it's currently 24 (possibly 25 but there is some conflicting info about Mississippi) as you can see here on the Pa Attorney General's web site:

    Congrats,

Well, the Lehigh county letter that comes with the application only lists 10-11 or so, so I'm thinking that it's just outdated. We'll see what materials come with my LTCF in (hopefully) another week or two.

I guess we are very lucky in Lackawanna County. We get out LTCF the same day before we leave the Sheriff's Office. From what I'm told the new Sheriff in Luzerne County has changed the rules. They also used to issue the same day but now there's a 3 day wait. I know that's not a long wait but once they start delaying it usually only gets worse.

Wow, I applied in Delco on September 16, so 45 days would have been October 31, and 45 business days gives us today because of Armistice Day yesterday. I have still not received my letter. What is the best way to proceed? Clearly they are in some sort of violation, and should have let me know either way, right?

I guess everything is relative. I called up the Yellowstone Cty. Sheriff's office this morning to 'schedule' an appointment to submit my ccw permit application. I was floored when I was told that my appointment to submit the paperwork was JANUARY 29, 2009! After that they have 60 days to either approve/reject it. So that makes it MARCH 31, 2009 before I can reasonably expect to be able to exercise my God Given right to self defense in public.

What I find incredulous is the fact the Luzurne County Sheriff dropped the same day LTCF issuance after a homeless person(who had license issued in Luzrene Cty.) later killed three people with a HAMMER. Hey.........It seems like the right thing to do in his eyes. Heyna'
