LTCF Application - Renewal or New Application?
I'm coming up on 5 years as a PA resident. Originally moved to Northampton county and was issued my LTCF there in 2015.
I've since moved to Monroe County and will be renewing my LTCF - will this be a new application (since I've never been issued one by Monroe County) or a renewal?Your neighborhood friendly candyman, Tim

Re: LTCF Application - Renewal or New Application?
Contact the Monroe County sheriff and ask how they want it done.

It doesn't matter. The process is exactly the same either way.

Re: LTCF Application - Renewal or New Application?
Likely mark it as new, since it's a different Sheriff's office. But yes ask them first to be sure.

Re: LTCF Application - Renewal or New Application?
If the sheriff acts on behalf of the PSP, why would a different one of 67 sheriffs be considered a new application. It's a PSP-controlled, Pennsylvania License To Carry Firearms system.Sheriff acts as PSP agent. Ergo, renewal, isn't it?
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

I agree with Bang and would check 'renewal' but the only difference between a new applicant and a renewal is that box so I can't see how it would matter whichever was checked.

Re: LTCF Application - Renewal or New Application?
Most sheriffs want it marked "NEW" when going from one county to another.
Realistically - there is no difference in the process, the only difference being which box will get marked on your LTCF when issued.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: LTCF Application - Renewal or New Application?
Thanks all - I'm aware there's no difference in how they're processed. Was hoping there was some written guidance somewhere (I couldn't find it).
I'll reach out to the Sheriff's Office for sure before X'ing that box.Your neighborhood friendly candyman, Tim

That check box doesn't even need to exist.
