Annual Harrisburg Rally - June 8, 2020

Just received the following in a mass email from Metcalfe's office:



Perhaps someone more involved with it will update this thread.

Well the guys that broke off PAFOA to PA2A have not posted a single post in the Rally Planning section for a full month...so we know the date, just show up!

Who "broke off"? PA2A is simply trying to fill a gap not covered by the more political groups. They (we) basically try to coordinate with all the different groups to make sure everyone knows when any of the others are doing something and leverage the strengths of each to make any event more successful.

Was there something that happened that you feel was missed? Now that a new date has been announced, I'm sure we'll start gearing up....and even follow through (again) if another scary email gets sent and the big names are too scared to come out in public view.

I was one of those who showed on June 8th. What I am hoping is that the organizers of the Metcalfe rally have had enough time to evaluate the threat they received (hard to believe a serious investigation would have failed to actually find the perp), expect more threats because their cancellation will encourage more of them, and then arrange for appropriate security for the rally to allow it to proceed. That is what happened on June 8 by those that organized the impromptu version and there is no reason that it cannot happen on September 29th.

Definitely agree with not backing down again as there will be more of these "threats". I do have to say all things considered, between the preparation and precautions taken by us that were there, plus the significant presence of LEO's I have no reason to think that same production wouldn't work for the 29th.
