Re: Next Presidential hopefull
here's the problem with being a single issue voter, he may carry a gun. But he's increased spending in his state ridiculously. Cato institute seems to love giving him D's and F's.

Re: Next Presidential hopefull
Who said i liked gulliani or hillary?
“Mike Huckabee (Arkansas Legislature: Democrat; 2006 Grade: F; Final Overall Tenure Grade: D) - Thanks to a final term grade of F, Huckabee earns an overall grade of D for his entire governorship. Like many Republicans, his grades dropped the longer he stayed in office. In his first few years, he fought hard for a sweeping $70 million tax cut package that was the first broad-based tax cut in the state in more than 2 years. He even signed a bill to cut the state’s 6 percent capital gains tax’a significant pro-growth accomplishment. But nine days after being reelected in 2002, he proposed a sales tax increase to cover a budget deficit caused partly by large spending increases that he proposed and approved, including an expansion in Medicare eligibility that Huckabee made a centerpiece of his 1997 agenda. He agreed to a 3 percent income tax ’surcharge’ and a 25-cent cigarette tax increase. In response to a court order to increase spending on education, Huckabee proposed another sales tax increase. Huckabee wants to run for the GOP presidential nomination next year. He’s already been hailed as a viable big-government conservative candidate by some. That seems about right: Huckabee’s leadership has left taxpayers in Arkansas much worse off.”
Hell, even Rendell scored a "C" on that report. Hives you an idea how bad an "F" is.
Cato institute is a libertarian think tank.
And yes, i do support Ron Paul for president. If the republicans don't nominate him, I'm voting for Badnarik or Russo, or whoever we pick this year.Last edited by MarcS; March 7th, 2007 at 11:52 AM.

Re: Next Presidential hopefull
As I've said on numerous occasions, Ron Paul stands a snowball's chance when the general R masses find out that he ran in the past as an L. I would love to vote L and if one were to run for a local office that they actually had a chance to win I would do so in a heartbeat. Having said that no L stands a chance of winning the Presidency at this time so I can not and will not vote L for the top of the ticket. Doing so at this time just ensures that the D's win the election and we can not afford Hitlery or Obama.

Re: Next Presidential hopefull
First, your last statement is a bit of a stretch, but I do understand what you are saying. I will vote for an L on the local level, but until the party makes some changes they will never get national acceptance. What good would it do to have an L President and a congress made up of either of the other two parties? None, we would just get more of the same crap that we are getting today only we'd have a President who was on TV whining all the time, that is if the media would give him any face time at all. Just my opinion, and we all know what opinions are like, but I know a lot of people who share it.
