SWPA AK build party

Anyone interested in getting an AK build party going around the PGH area? Never built an AK but I think it would fun. If there is enough interest, a very experienced builders are willing, this could be a planning thread.

If we could get someone who's done a few before with the proper know how, I might be inclined to find a cheap kit and pick up a flat.

I think that's going to be the hard part ... finding someone willing to put up with us newbies ...

I think as long as the kits aren't virgin or from milled rifles, it shouldn't be too bad. I just know that virgin kits are harder to build and same with the milled receivers.

Well, you have no idea what your missing. This really has to be one of the funnest (there is that word again. Is that really a word?) rifles you will shoot. Cheap and just a blast to hammer with.

BUT BE WARNED: They are addicting. Like a lays potato chip.... No one can have just one. You will want one. Then another, and then..... Run away now while you have the chance.... Or forever be drawn into the realm of the AK.....

OK NOW, with that having been said....I might be up for this. If the nights are right. It will be a drive for me, but I'ld love to give this a try.

Hey im in. Ive been wanting to build my own to add to the collection but after researching realized that this is beyond my equipment capabilities.

Great idea, btw. Now if we can just find someone patient enough to show us how to do it and let us know what all equipment would be needed.
