PSC’s Carbine Method (12 hours, INTERMEDIATE skill level) is a technical course of fire designed to teach and reinforce the fundamentals of practical carbine shooting.

We meet Friday evening for discussion of safety protocols and shooting theory. Instructors interact with students utilizing both carbine simulators and live guns. Baseline skill levels are quickly assessed, and any gear issues are sorted out.

Skills are developed and enhanced Saturday. Material covered includes body alignment, presentation, mounting the weapon, aiming, recoil control, reloads, ammunition management, target transitions, and Method integration.

Instructors explain and demonstrate practice techniques so that students may continue to develop with confidence.

You MUST HAVE the following to participate:

    • eye protection
    • hearing protection (electronic preferred)
    • sturdy, stiff belt (min. 1.5″ width)
    • sling (adjusting two point preferred)
    • semi auto carbine of at least 5.45mm caliber
    • three spare magazines (min.)
    • 300 rounds of factory FMJ ammunition (min.)
    • weapon lubricant
    • tourniquet (C-A-T® or SOF®TT-W)
    • pen and small notepad

PSC’s Carbine Method challenges across the shooting skills spectrum – students should be of sound body and mind.

Our first 2020 open enrollment class is currently still scheduled:

    PSC's Carbine Method
    May 15 & 16, 2020
Beaver Valley Rifle & Pistol Club
    Beaver Falls, PA

PSC’s Carbine Method is a 12 hour technical course of fire designed to teach and reinforce the fundamentals of practical carbine shooting. Carbine Method is one of the prerequisites for PSC's Residential GunFighting course.

    car·bine | \ ˈkär-ˌbēn , -ˌbīn \
    Definition of carbine
1: a short-barreled lightweight firearm originally used by cavalry
2: a light short-barreled repeating rifle that is used as a supplementary military arm or for hunting in dense brush

This class might need to be be rescheduled; if so, it would bump the Sept 25/26 Shotgun Method.

Don't forget your Eventbrite discount code PAFOA2020 for a 15% discount on any 2020 class.

Stay safe and healthy! I look forward to shooting with you!
