Sheriff Election
Looks like the Republican candidate for Montgomery County Sheriff isn't FOAC endorsed. Does anyone have any thoughts on this before considering leaving this blank or even voting for the Democratic incumbent?

Re: Sheriff Election
20 minutes and $20 gets you a LTCF if you qualify. His dept provides monthly free Firearms Safety Courses to residents. I'm not sure what else you would want. He's the best I've seen in the job. Why the negative comment? Trolling?

Re: Sheriff Election
As I understand it, FOAC won't endorse a candidate that does not respond to their 2A questionnaire.
In today's political climate in Montco, that may or may not mean something for a potential sheriff.
The LTCF is no longer a walk-in process under the current sheriff.
You have to submit the application and then wait up to 45 days to be notified to come in, even for renewals.
When you come in the hours of operation have been restricted to only half day.
Then they run a PICS check while you are there even though you just waited for approval of a supposed background check.
If PICS is down when you get there they will not issue your LTCF.
This seems anti 2A to me, needlessly stretching out the process and restricting hours of operation.
When in doubt I vote Republican. How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?

Re: Sheriff Election
Just this past summer it was a simple drop-off of paperwork and pick-up license in 10 days. I hear it is still going like that. Constitution aside...I can live with that.

Re: Sheriff Election
Since this thread is here I'll just add that mine wasn't endorsed either but that doesn't mean he isn't pro gun. He's stood beside Kim Stolfer at carry seminars in the area and is probably as pro gun as it comes. Helps to do a little more research than just basing your vote on what the voter guide does or does not say.
