Last year I sold a couple collectible safe queens that I had acquired back in the late 70s /early 80s that I had no use for, and traded for this LWRC piston-driven pistol, black anodized finish:

It was some kind of limited run configuration with that particular adjustable brace, and the dealer had a few of them from which to choose. I stuck the SIG Romeo 5 on it. I like the fact that it's a pistol (says "PISTOL" right on the lower) and can be carried in the car loaded with an LTCF.

Thinking about taking my AR SBR off the NFA registry, selling the Colt 10.5" barreled upper, and doing some other carbine build on the lower.

I don't understand why you would want to take a lower off of the registry, if you only plan to sell the upper? They ain't sendin ya back $200 bucks

Agreed, not sure of why you’d do that?
I DO like the idea of having a lower that says Pistol on it though.

Some nice pictures posted, many thanks!

You could laser engrave "Plasma Rifle" on the lower if you want to, but it wouldn't make it a plasma rifle any more than the word "pistol" makes it a pistol.

What if you wanted to later build a carbine/rifle with that lower? It wouldn't be illegal to do it, because the laser engraved "pistol" wording is meaningless, but it sure would be weird.

Anderson makes marked pistol lowers as well, and I'm sure they can be found cheaper then the link below.

Simplification. One less NFA weapon for executor/heirs to deal with.

If I'm driving around and get stopped by LE or game protector that's not knowledgeable about the differences between an AR rifle and an AR pistol, the word "pistol" on the receiver might make the difference to the LE, GP, or if push comes to shove, MDJ.

i want one that says "totally not a rifle, really!"
because even if they know it isn't a rifle, out of precaution they'll stil be seizing it, maybe providing new bracelets and letting the judge sort it all out.
just like when that one state went and red flagged the wrong guy, knew it was the wrong guy yet still demanded he turn over his weapons until it was sorted out.

so i might as well get a laugh out of it.
