    Default Vision Scopes, Not Horus....

I own one of these scopes. It has a single picket post tapered "hair". It is a 4x-12x scope with an adjustable objective lens. This is NOT a Horus scope. Does anyone know anything about these scopes??

I got it from my late friend, and we tried it on a .222 and a .223 bolt action rifle. We could not hit squat with it. But, when we put it on a .30 cal. bolt action whether it was a .300 Win. Mag. or a .308 Win. it shined!

I intend to mount it on my M-1917 Winchester contract Enfield in .30-06 someday. This is a sporterized rifle too.

I don't know anything about these scopes personally, but I usually stick to some pretty major brands when it comes to scopes. I'm very familiar with the Horus scopes though, and some of their reticles. If you would like, I'll be happy to ask around and do some research to see if I can find anything on that scope. Are there any other distinguishing features about it, like any colors rings (like the leupold gold ring) or any other numbers?

I'll dig out the scope later and describe it as best as I can, will try to post pics to. Thank you for the help, in advance.

Anytime man, I like to help as much as I can. I know a great deal about rifles and some of the optics, but I have friends and gunsmiths who really do know ALOT, lol. So if I can't help you, I'm sure I can show it to one of them and they might be able to tell me about it to tell you. Take care and I look forward to the challenge.

Here are some pics. This is a 4x-12x-40mm scope with an adjustable objective lens. It also has one single "hair", I have heard this referred to as the "German Picket Post Reticle". The elevation turret reads from 150 to 500 yards.

You might have to save these to another file to be able to make the pictures bigger on your computer.

Tomcat, If you could PM me your E-mail address, I can send you better quality pictures that I took last night and saved to my files here on the computer. Thank you for your time and help. Same pictures, but bigger.
