Default Man allegedly flashed gun, is charged with threats

    http://www.mcall.com/news/local/poli...,3185991.story

A man flashed a handgun during an argument in the 1300 block of E. Sixth Street in Bethlehem around 1:50 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Emmanuel Laureano-Gonzalez, 22, of 1346 E. Sixth pulled up his shirt to reveal the gun tucked in his waistband when a neighbor told him to move from where he was sitting, police said. Laureano-Gonzalez didn't remove the weapon and nobody was injured.

Laureano-Gonzalez was charged with disorderly conduct, harassment and making terroristic threats. He was arraigned before District Judge Michael J. Koury Jr. of Wilson and committed to Northampton County Prison under $10,000 bail.

    equally likely:

"Man's neighbor who hates him and argued with him constantly reported he "flashed" a gun to get him arrested." It worked.

yeah... umm. the overall article leans me toward unlawful possession, and concealment.

BUT, given the actual lack of details, it's (as stated) possible such a thing never occurred.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

You know it's quite possible it did occur. Shoving a gun in your waistband only means trouble. Allot more intimidating than an O/C'd gun in a holster. Probably "gangsta & gangsta".

That disorderly conduct comes up a lot. But there may be more going on then what they are saying.

Factually incorrect, but I do recognize the social stigma.

I think it's also important to note that many IWB holsters could also give the appearance that the gun is "shoved in your waistband". Typically, newspaper ariticles - especially very short ones like this - don't provide enough information to form any meaningful conclusion.

    Very true.

If you weren't a gun owner/didn't know much about holsters, do you think you'd be able to tell the difference between "Mexican" carry, and an unobtrusive IWB holster?

Or, even knowing about holsters, are you sure you could tell the difference at a glance?
