    Default Hollyweird and carry

I don't watch much TV, but other folks do. Seems that at least 2 shows in the last week or so featured non LEO carrying. "Boston Legal" I am told had Will Shatner CCing and even shooting a mugger, and when the cops came Shatners charactor had more than just the 1 carry gun on him ( like 6 or something LOL). The 2nd show I heard about was "My Name is Earl" , and the one lady who is Earl's ex gets a NEW JERSEY ( LMAO!) carry lisc and is OPEN carrying LOL! My mother told me about this one. The lady is wearing a shoulder rig openly but my mom didn't know what kind of gun she had. There is a scene where she is in a bar OCing and something goes on and she draws her gun, and a bunch of others in the bar also do so, including an old man and a guy who is dressed like a biker, all of which were CCing.

Certainly these shows are not portraying things accuratly, but seems Holleyweird writers are picking up on this stuff. I also heard about some new show on HBO in which some guy (portrayed as a redneck of course...) OC's everywhere.

Keep in mind they prob wrote the shows up at least 6 months ago or so. I'm thinking the general OC movement is what they picked up on, and the time phase could be in line with our beloved Gorilla! Or maybe Danbus vs Norfolk.

There was an article in the LA Times a few months back about OC too.

The NJ humor could have also been inspired by the Stephanie Plum series by writer Janet Evanovich ( who lives in NoVA from what it says on the back of the books- hmm does she do any OC?). Her main charactor( Plum) carries a .38 in her purse without a lisc ( OMG!), and all sorts of gun humor is present in the books ( like in book 3 a bunch of old ladies in a beauty parlor are showing eachother what they carry LOL).

I caught some of the My Name is Earl show.

His ex wife got car jacked at gun point so she got a gun.

I don't remember her getting an LTCF. She was open carrying. Her husband was against it. She was saying something about the 2nd amendment.

She had an ND in a bar as she was holstering an Walter PPK or similar in a shoulder holster and grazed her boob. Everyone else in the bar was packing they all drew as she ND'ed.
Her husband traded her gun for a few pounds of ham after that.

At the end of the show she produced another gun from the SOB of her jeans.
It was a 6 inch revo not sure what it was looked like a Colt Python.

It was funny. But it did not portray CC and OC folks as being very responsible.
But it is a comedy show after all.
