Re: QUESTION ON .44 MAG POWDER
I won't use Bullseye for the .44 Magnum. I think its way too fast burning for this round. I use W296 or Unique. W296 will give you very good velocities in this cartridge.
Here is a link to M.D. Smith's Reloading Pages for the .44 Mag. It has info for using Bullseye.
As always, use at your own risk!

Re: QUESTION ON .44 MAG POWDER
You CAN use Bullseye...but only for light loads. There's room for a double (or possibly even a triple ) charge in the 44 mag case when using Bullseye. 296 is a great powder for full power 44 mag loads....Winchester cautions reloaders to NOT reduce the charge more than 10%. Something like Unique will let you load light to medium velocity loads.
There are three kinds of people in this world....them what's good at math and them what ain't.

Re: QUESTION ON .44 MAG POWDER
Bullseye is all right for light loads for light loads if your loading procedures are safe. The heavy loads of Bullseye are too snappy for my taste. The two classic powders for heavy loads are 2400 and 4227, have used both for years and have had good results. I will not use 296 because of the narrow window of safe loads. The only modern powder that I have seen hangfire is 296, they were shooting a .454 Casull and it was as scary as any thing we have seen.

Re: QUESTION ON .44 MAG POWDER
My 7 1/2" Redhawk love a load using a 240gr JSP with W296 in it very accurate for my gun. It also like 2400 for mid to heavy and Unique for lighter loads.
Get a reloading manual (Can't go wrong with a Lymans #48) and see what it shows for a lighter load. I think Bullseye is a bit too fast.Ron USAF Ret E-8 FFL01/SOT3 NRA Benefactor Member

Re: QUESTION ON .44 MAG POWDER
Our favorite plinking load for the .44 is 4.9gr. of Bullseye behind a 255gr. Keith style lead bullet. There is no way that I could even guess how many of these we have fired. One winter indoor uspsa style league we used 5000 primers. When we got the Blackhawk the only loads listed for the .44 mag. used 2400,4227 and Bullseye. Over the years we have become very comfortable with this powder, it is the most consistent of any that we have used.

Re: QUESTION ON .44 MAG POWDER
2400 is made by Alliant. 4227 is IMR. Both of these are also good powders as phill said.
Here are a few links to the manufacturers descriptions.
