We went through this with my mom.
There isn't one "best" hearing aid for everyone. There are many variables such as the type and severity of hearing loss, and the length of time it has gone on.
There is also a "getting used to being able to hear again" period. Your brain has to adjust, after not having proper aural input.
The sound signals to your brain may be clear but you may perceive them as garbled for a while.
