    Default Rock River Pro-Series...worth it?

Would you pay $1800 for a new Rock River Arms Pro-Series Government Model? I have been pondering the AR I would like to buy/build and this deal fell into my lap. Is it worth it?

If a gun set up exactly like that is the one you want, it's probably a good deal. If you want different accessories, layout etc, you'd be better off buying the base gun and adding on yourself.

IMO they aren't a bad deal if that is the setup you want.

First: check with pete legal transfers, their web site is http://ar15sales.com/ - he can knock about 1/3 off of the retail price.

Second: eotech 552 - $450, surefire M951 - $479.00 - that is $900 (retail, but good luck finding accessories like those for less than retail right now) right there that you can rebate off of the price. That doesn't count other things like the rail ($212) and flip-up rear sight ($100).

It doesn't seem cheap, but it does seem good.

i think the RRA ar15's are great rifles but personally i would not pay 1800 for any AR15 when there are much better choices available. for 1800 i would suggest you look at the SIG 556 or FN FS2000. what are you planning on doing with the rifle? must you have that particular model? you can buy a nice ar15 from various manufacturers for 800-1500 and have just as much rifle.

Exactly. I am well aware that I could build my own for a lesser price, but by the time I outfitted it with the optics and other accessories it seems like it would be a fairly decent value. The rifle retails for over $2,300. Plus you get the RRA lifetime warranty on the upper and lower.

Me personally I'm going for this upper when they get them in stock. http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-M...-urg-m4-16.htm
However if that's got the accessories you want then go for it, it's a hell of a deal and RRA makes some nice gear!
