    Default 18 years ago....

I sat in labor in a hospital bed. My second child (who almost wasn't) was making his way into the world.. a week early.

Labor was quick, no meds... and I was suddenly a Mom of 2 boys instead of one.

He's away at Penn State, so no hugs and birthday wishes in person. I miss seeing him daily but part of being a parent is allowing them to grow.

He's accomplished a lot in life, but the academics and the scout things are not what please me most. I am most proud of the fact that he's "one of the good ones". The type to give all he can to help you out, the type to be counted on when he's needed. Funny as heck, and smart as a whip.

Today I celebrate a successful parent job after 18 years of what was relatively easy work.

Happy Birthday to my son "B".

    Love,
    MOM

    Well wishes to your son.

My youngest turns 18 this year. It is an odd feeling when they start to out grow you. I am 6 ft 2". My oldest is coming up on 22. He must be 6 inches taller than me.

Job well done, except it`s not really done. Although they are on their own and succeed or fail based on their own decisions and actions you will never stop being a parent. The hardest part is letting them fail without intervening.
    Mine are 36, 33, 30.

    Thank you.
My oldest turns 22 on election day... it's a wonderful thing to be a Mom.

Both sons are taller than me and the DH. Pretty nifty when you need to reach stuff!

My brother and cousin are Marines. I have MUCH respect for jar-heads.

"B" wants to work for the US Gov't in computer hunting terrorists.
