New member here with a question. As the title suggests, I am looking to renew my carry permit, but was curious as to how difficult it is in Montco. Sadly, I let mine go un-renewed after 1998 as I had sold off my Sigma.

Have to re-apply as if you never had a permit in the first place.

If you have everything in order it only takes a few minutes. From start to finish the entire process (filling out the application, getting the police check card and going to the sheriff) took me an hour and I walked out with it that day. They seem to have their stuff in order down there.

Have "my stuff in order" as in liense and SS card? It's been awhile so please forgive myignorance on the matter. Anything else I'll need to get the process started? I pretty much have my references selected, I'll just have to get signatures, right?

I meant if everything is filled out correctly and if your local police department gives you an instant police check card. Some departments I think there is a waiting period but I'm not sure. They may also have copies of the application you fill out at the Sheriffs office

as soon as the local police sign off on it you can go to the sheriffs office at the court house and get it
